Title: The Emperor: live the dreams
Author: Ram Joshi
Publisher: Notion Press
Genre: Fiction
My rating: 3/5
Ram Joshi’s The Emperor: Live the Dreams is a symbolic tale that chronicles the journey of a penguin named Em as he fulfills his desire of climbing a mountain despite self-doubt and opposition from his own tribe.
This inspiring tale emphasizes the significance of pursuing one’s dream. I liked how the author made the journey of Em as real as possible with huddles. Em’s journey in achieving his goal is not a straight road to success. Despite many setbacks along the way, he persevered with resolve and eventually reached his destination.
This book delivers a valuable message that nothing is impossible if we work hard. We always end up not doing what we want to do because of self-doubt, fear, and mostly by discouragement from the people around us. But we have to put faith in ourselves even if no one else did. The first step to success is getting past fear and self-doubt. One cannot achieve success overnight, but with determination, we can one day succeed.
This novella is only 136 pages and can be read in one sitting. Although this book can be read by adults and children alike, I find it best suited for young readers around 10-12 age. This book will further motivate them to aspire toward their dream. Overall, a good read.
