And Then One Day by Samantha Chase follows the story of Courtney Baker and Dean Jones. It’s the fourth book in the Magnolia Sound series but it can be read as a standalone. Courtney had a crush on her best friend Scarlet’s brother Dean ever since her teenage. Afraid of what Scarlet would think and how she would react Courtney had confined her feelings for Dean.

Dean has feelings for Courtney too but has never confessed it to her fearing that if anything went wrong it would ruin Courtney’s relationship with his sister. Jobless and homeless Courtney decides to move to Raleigh for a new start. But Scarlet’s dinner rehearsal party has changed everything between Dean and Courtney.

The writing and narrative were good. I liked Courtney and Scarlet’s friendship. Despite the odds, they did care for each other. The things Scarlet did to make Courtney stay is no way acceptable but somehow they get over it. I liked Dean and Hunter’s characters too. It is a short read with just 15 chapters. If you’re really into Romance genre and are looking for a light read then you could give this one a shot.
