The book These Bright and Lovely Nightmares is about protecting the people with supernatural powers from the evil predator’s Vampires in the place called “The Gardens” which is hidden from the real world. The protectors in chief thought that Vampires are worst but they don’t know that they were yet to face something more horrible and evil.

The main protagonists are Ian, Eleanor and Alexander and the trio are called The Demidovs. This story mainly circles around them and their family. Each and every character has their uniqueness which was carried till the end of the story. I particularly love Eleanor for her bravery despite her age.

The magical powers of Magicians, Spellcasters are vividly described which makes it easier to understand. The twist in the plot is something that I didn’t see coming and the whole story takes an unexpected turning there. I love the way how the author makes the sudden shift of the antagonist which was splendid.

Too many characters were introduced in the beginning but it seems all of them don’t have the role to play. I liked how the author handles the flashbacks. Not giving all at once but has planted in between chapters with some suspense elements. I’m looking forward to reading the second instalment in The Silence that Once Was series.
